PATTERNS1. Explain how you created your pattern. I created my pattern by first drawing out 6 different diamond shapes and going over them with sharpie. I then made a water color painting that was ombre going from purple, blue, green, yellow and made a clipping mask on Adobe Illustrator to make the diamond shapes no longer be black but have the ombre colors. I then made the pattern by placing 2 different diamonds in a diamond shape and repeating that throughout a rectangle. 2. What do you think about the pattern creating process? I think that the pattern creating process was easy but my only issue was the my computer ran really slow with my pattern so I need to go back and change things in order to speed the program up. 3. What is your favorite part of your pattern? My favorite part of my patter is the ombre color. This is because I find it very cool that this was a water color painting that was scanned and then I was able to incorporate that into my pattern. 4. What was the most challenging part of creating your pattern? The most challenging part of creating my pattern was I had difficulty with figuring out a way to make the diamonds fit together to make a pattern that looks like it fit well together. I ended up having to put the diamonds in a certain order so that when I repeated them it look like they fit correctly. 5. What would you do differently? The things I would do differently is I would have drawn my images more precise because on the pattern there are some points that aren't perfectly straight and if I could I would go back and fix them so they look straighter.
